What is a General Purpose Affidavit?
An affidavit is a written statement of facts that you swear or affirm to be true before a commissioner of oaths, notary public, or lawyer. Once signed and sworn, it becomes a legal document that can be submitted to courts, government agencies, financial institutions, and other official bodies.
When Would You Use This?
- Confirming your identity or address for legal or administrative purposes
- Supporting an application where a sworn statement is required
- Providing evidence in a legal proceeding when you cannot appear in person
