What is a General Purpose Affidavit?

An affidavit is a written statement of facts that you swear or affirm to be true before a commissioner of oaths, notary public, or lawyer. Once signed and sworn, it becomes a legal document that can be submitted to courts, government agencies, financial institutions, and other official bodies.

When Would You Use This?

  • Confirming your identity or address for legal or administrative purposes
  • Supporting an application where a sworn statement is required
  • Providing evidence in a legal proceeding when you cannot appear in person
  • Confirming facts related to an estate, property, or business matter
  • Any situation where an organization requires a sworn written statement
